The Centre continues to hold two classes in saz – a string instrument – each week. Caner – something of a celebrity in the saz-playing world, teaches the advanced class for adults. Caner features on BBC Radio 3’s Word on the Street webpage. Soner Golbas teaches the beginner’s class for the under-18s. Saz is a complicated instrument to learn, and it can take one or two years tograduate from the beginner’s class to the advanced class. Both our saz maestros are experienced teachers, who have delivered classes with Hackney Music Trust before.
Saz classes: Fridays 5.30pm, Sundays 11- 4pm |
